Minnesota Rovers, a 400-plus member-strong outdoors club, has a "fall intro" gathering at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the REI store in Bloomington.

"[It's] finding other people who enjoy doing the outdoors activities that you enjoy doing. … It might be a little intimidating to come into a group of people that you don't know, but everyone in Rovers is awesome, welcoming and willing to answer questions," said member Monika Kopet of the benefits of joining the club.

Hiking, rock climbing, cycling, camping, canoeing, skiing — all are among the activities that members participate in. Group members host day and weekend trips around certain activities, whether it's camping in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness or cycling the Wobegon Trail. The group also loans gear from "the cage," a collection available to members for use.
