It's been a summer of back injuries for at least three prominent Minnesota athletes.

Twins pitchers Glen Perkins and Phil Hughes have both been sidelined with back ailments, though both could return soon. The Twins have been resilient in their absence, showing at least in their case that back problems don't have to be back-breakers.

Whether the Vikings will be able to do the same without injured center John Sullivan remains to be seen. He'll miss at least half the season, with Joe Berger taking his spot — but the burden will be spread along the backs of the entire O-line.

don't forget SI.com wants us to remember that Marcus Mariota and Jameis Winston square off Sunday. I admit, I had forgotten all about that.
