In the last election, economic issues like mandatory sick days, increasing the minimum wage and equity dominated the discussion. Now, the issue of public safety, whether it be downtown violence or police-related Âshootings, is forcing itself into the mayoral race, with caucuses three months away.
It's still two years out on the construction schedule, but the City of Minneapolis has preliminary plans for a big re-do of 8th Street in the downtown. On Thursday,officials will share them with the public during two open houses at the IDS Crystal Court.
