Haiti Looks to the U.S. Again.

Haitian-American relations up until now have been less than ideal to say the least. I am praying for a positive outcome and a turn for the better in our international relationships.

According to an article in BBC News In 2008 Haiti lost almost a thousand people killed and up to a million were madehomeless after four hurricanes struck around the important town ofGonaives. I don't remember hearing much about those events at all.
Haiti did not become the poorest country in the western hemisphere yesterday, its been that way for a while BUT something about us has changed. Something about the way we see Haiti has changed and whatever that is I just hope its properly motivated and I hope that our relationship can continue to grow.
Perhaps our sympathy comes from the realization that our economic situation swiftly took a turn for the worse and the reality of poverty became very tangible for us. Essentially things just got all too real all too fast.
To Haiti, I look forward to learning more about your rich history and your incredibly resilient and courageous people.
God Bless,
