Timberwolves veteran guard Kevin Martin injured groin muscles during Saturday's training-camp practice in Mankato, an injury that the Wolves, this early in the preseason, will treat with caution.

Martin was injured while reaching to make a steal and collided with an opponent during Saturday's scrimmage.

"He tweaked it pretty good," Wolves coach Flip Saunders said. "We'll have to see how he is."

Martin left practice early the same session that forward Corey Brewer returned after leaving Friday's practice early.

He was hit in the mouth during a collision with Thaddeus Young while both were chasing a loose ball. The blow chipped two of Brewer's teeth. He returned to the Twin Cities late Friday afternoon to have them prepared.

He called it "patchwork" and said he'll return Wednesday to have the work completed. In the meantime, he'll wear a mouth guard.

"His head met my face," Brewer said, referring to the collision. "My face didn't win."

The Wolves finish their six-day camp in Mankato on Sunday with a scrimmage that's closed to the public. They'll return to Minneapolis afterward to prepare for Tuesday's preseason opener at Indianapolis.
