The Sweet 16 is built of big names and top seeds. The only surprising matchup is No. 11 seed Gonzaga against No. 10 Syracuse, but both are still well-known and respected programs.

All four No. 1 seeds are alive and 12 of the final 16 teams are top five seeds.

While it appears the NCAA tournament has progressed as expected, the picture looked much different after the first two days of action. A record 10 double-digit seeds recorded victories in the Round of 64. The upsets likely busted many brackets, especially those that picked Michigan State to win its region and even a national championship.

No. 15 seed Middle Tennessee State ousted the Big Ten tournament champion Spartans on Friday. No. 14 seed Stephen F. Austin upset West Virginia. No. 13 Hawaii took down California. No. 12 seeds Arkansas-Little Rock and Yale defeated Purdue and Baylor, respectively. No. 11 Northern Iowa shocked Texas with a half-court buzzer-beater to win the game.

No. 11 seeds Gonzaga and Wichita State and No. 10 VCU rounded out the double-digit upsets.

Most of the Cinderellas were sent home on Saturday and Sunday, though.

Stephen F. Austin lost on a last-second basket to No. 6 seed Notre Dame. Northern Iowa blew a big lead late in regulation and then lost in double overtime to No. 3 seed Texas A&M. VCU couldn't quite catch up to No. 2 Oklahoma.

Syracuse won the battle of double-digit seeds over Middle Tennessee State and Gonzaga beat up No. 3 seed Utah to advance.

Other than Gonzaga, the only upset in the Round of 32 was No. 7 seed Wisconsin over No. 2 Xavier. Wisconsin native Bronson Koenig hit two three-pointers in the final 19 seconds, including a buzzer-beater, to propel the Badgers to a third straight Sweet 16 appearance.

UCLA was the only double-digit seed to advance to the Sweet 16 a year ago.

In 2001 and 2012, nine double-digit seeds pulled upsets in the Round of 64, but only three survived the weekend. This year, only two advanced.

ESPN Tournament Challenge is offering fans a second chance to fill out a new bracket. "Bracket busted by Michigan State or West Virginia? Take another shot at perfection," the website insists.
