Percy Prognosis: still iffy at best as Vikings continue preparing for Packers

Those looking for a favorable Percy Prognosis will have to wait just a while longer. Vikings receiver Percy Harvin did not participate in Thursday’s practice at Winter Park, still bothered by his sprained left ankle and held back after testing the ankle out some on Wednesday.

The Vikings moved Thursday’s practice outside and coach Leslie Frazier said Harvin did a little bit of work with receivers coach George Stewart but did not do anything with the offense.

Said Frazier: “The fact that we were out here on the grass, we wanted to just give it another chance to see where he is. And then we’ll try him out tomorrow if we can.”

The Vikings’ final practice of the week will begin around 11 a.m. Friday as they finish up their preparation for Sunday’s game in Green Bay. Frazier hopes to see Harvin do more on Friday but is not yet banking on the dynamic receiver to be able to play this weekend.

“He’s got to work through it,” Frazier said. “Pain tolerance is the key.

“It’d be hard to put him out there in a game without seeing him run around a little bit more than what he did on Wednesday. So we’ll see what he can do tomorrow, if he can do anything.”

Harvin hurt his ankle in the second half of a Nov. 4 loss in Seattle and has missed the Vikings’ past two games.

In other injury news, Antoine Winfield (knee), Kyle Rudolph (concussion/shoulder), Harrison Smith (concussion), Jasper Brinkley (shoulder) and Phil Loadholt (knee) were all limited in practice Thursday. All are expected to play Sunday.
