Here are two examples of how a proposed development fee intended to raise money for parks in Minneapolis would be applied, depending on whether land or money was contributed:

NEIGHBORHOOD RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT

Units: 100

Footprint: 108,900 square feet

Land option: 10,890 square feet

Fee option: $108,900

DOWNTOWN OFFICE BUILDING

Employees: 4,000

Footprint: 112,000 square feet

Land option: 11,200 square feet

Fee option: $800,000
