DULUTH, Minn. — A northeastern Minnesota man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for fatally stabbing a Duluth landlord.

Forty-two-year-old Raymond Weeks pleaded guilty in March to intentional second-degree murder.

Judge Shaun Floerke (FLUR'-kee) accepted the plea deal and sentenced Weeks on Thursday. Weeks was given credit for 263 days he already has served in jail.

Weeks pleaded guilty to stabbing 54-year-old Duluth landlord Kevin Tyman in December 2012. Tyman died hours after a single stab wound lacerated his liver.

The judge ordered Weeks to pay $2,300 for Tyman's funeral expenses.

Weeks' co-defendant, 32-year-old Joella Lee Tucker, pleaded guilty in March to aiding and abetting second-degree murder for her role in Tyman's death. She'll be sentenced next week.

Tyman was Tucker's former landlord. Authorities alleged she persuaded Weeks to kill Tyman.
