Scribbling furiously

“Fast & Furious 7” writer Chris Morgan is hard at work on script revisions in the wake of star Paul Walker’s death that would retire his character, using footage that has already been shot. If he succeeds, shooting could begin again in January. The incentive is large: Universal has already poured $150 million into the film, which could lead to the largest insurance claim in Hollywood history if the studio concludes the movie must be scrapped.

The final reel

The Wachowski brothers’ “Jupiter Ascending” stars Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis. … Ben Whishaw will play Freddie Mercury after Sacha Baron Cohen dropped out of the planned biopic. … Juan Antonio Bayona (“The Impossible,”) will direct the “World War Z” sequel.
