Delta flight from Twin Cities evacuated after pilot reports smoke in cockpit

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A plane was quickly evacuated when the pilot reported smoke in the cockpit shortly after the flight arrived in Grand Rapids.

Gerald R. Ford International Airport spokeswoman Tara Hernandez  tells The Grand Rapids Press Delta Flight 751 from Minneapolis-St. Paul touched down just before 10 p.m. Tuesday, and the pilot alerted the airport's communication center of the smoke.

According to Hernandez, fire personnel responded and all 151 passengers were evacuated from the plane within 10 minutes. No injuries were reported.

Officials are trying to figure out what caused the smoke.
