9 a.m. update: Rush hour wrap up

The middle portion of this morning's rush hour was plagued with crashes that tangled traffic on major routes. Among the worst was a multi-car crash that blocked lanes on eastbound Hwy. 212 at Mitchell Road for about 20 minutes.

I-694 was no picnic either. One crash, a work zone and congestion had drivers in both directions sitting in traffic for 15 to 20 minutes between Hwy. 252 and 35W.

Currently things have settled down aside from a stall blocking the center lane of eastbound 694 in the area of Long Lake Road.

Traffic maps are looking decent at this hour with no major delays anywhere.  Plan on a few pockets of slow traffic on southbound 494 through Plymouth. Southbound 35W from Hwy. 10 to 694 also is still busy.
