As a player: Averaged 32 ppg as high school senior at Cuyahoga Heights — a Cleveland suburb — leading the state of Ohio in scoring. Was a four-year starter at point guard for Gophers teams that included future NBA stars Mychal Thompson, Kevin McHale and Ray Williams.

Most recent job: NBA analyst this season for ESPN.

As NBA coach: Led the Wolves to eight consecutive playoff appearances with a record of 411-326 from 1995-2005. Spent three seasons with Detroit Pistons (2005-08), where he was 176-70. Last coaching job was two-plus seasons with Washington, where he was 51-130.

As CBA coach: Paid his dues with seven years in the NBA’s version of the minor leagues, where he won two CBA titles.

As college coach: Started his coaching career at Golden Valley Lutheran, where he was 92-13 in four seasons. He moved from there to an assistant job at the University of Minnesota, and was an assistant two years at the University of Tulsa before moving to the CBA.
