Preview: The Jazz must beat the Wolves to stay in the chase with the Lakers for the West's eighth and final playoff spot. The Lakers' magic number is one now that they beat San Antonio at home on Sunday night. Utah's out and L.A. is in if the Jazz loses Monday or at Memphis on Wednesday or if the Lakers beat Houston at home on Wednesday. The Jazz has not played since beating the Wolves 107-100 on Friday night in Utah. It has won three of its past four and eight of its past 10 and still is chasing the Lakers. …Utah's victory on Friday guaranteed its 25th winning season in the last 28 years. …The Jazz has won two of three meetings between the teams this season, beating the Wolves twice in Salt Lake City and losing 101-99 at Target Center on Feb. 22.
Players to watch: Utah and ex-Wolves center Al Jefferson tied a career high in scoring with Friday's 40-point, 13-rebound, six-assist game against his former team. He became the first Jazz player since Karl Malone did it in April 1995 to record at least 40 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in a game. … Former Wolves guard Randy Foye has busted Mehmet Okur's franchise record for three-pointers in a season by 46. His 175 made so far also easily are a career high.
Injuries: Wolves C Nikola Pekovic (bruised calf) has missed the past two games and is questionable, F Kevin Love (hand, knee surgeries), G Brandon Roy (knees) and G Malcolm Lee (hip, knee surgeries) are out. Jazz C Enes Kanter (dislocated shoulder) is out.
