A Pipestone, Minn.-based wind energy developer said Monday that it will install two utility-scale wind turbines at a Honda plant in Ohio.
Juhl Wind said in a press release that under the $8 million deal, its renewable asset subsidiary will oversee construction and operation of the turbines.
Juhl said the turbines will begin operating later this year, supplying a substantial part of the power for the Honda Transmission Manufacturing of America plant in Russells Point, Ohio. Juhl will own the turbines and sell the power to the automaker, Honda said.
The project was originally planned by NexGen Energy Partners of Boulder, Colo. Juhl Wind said it acquired the project in 2011.
