Minneapolis  welcomed 32 new recruits to its police and park police force Friday night with a graduation ceremony at the Minneapolis Convention Center.

Police Chief Tim Dolan was to preside as the new officers were sworn in and received their badges.

The new recruits include five women and nine minority officers, making it one of the most diverse graduating classes to complete a 15-week Police Academy course and training, according to a city news release.
