Career: 2006-2009, president and chief operating officer; 2004 to 2006, president - retail North America; 2002 to 2004, executive vice president, Best Buy U.S. retail; 1985 to 2002, senior vice president, regional vice president, regional manager, district manager and store manager.
He joined Best Buy in 1985 as a store associate.
Boards: Dunn served on the board of the Best Buy Children's Foundation and is a past board member of Dick's Sporting Goods and the Greater Twin Cities United Way.
Compensation: Dunn took home $1,440,444 as CEO for the fiscal year ended March 3rd, 2012. His annual bonus of $1.14 million was withheld pending the audit committee's investigation. That bonus now becomes part of his severance package that also includes a severance payment of $2,850,000 and compensation for unused vacation of $106,742. Including the severance payments over the last eight years, Dunn has taken home more than $24 million in total compensation that included salary, bonuses and the value of stock options that Dunn exercised in that period.
