St. Paul police are investigating a shooting on the city's West Side that hospitalized an 18-year-old man late Saturday.

Officers responded at about 11 p.m. to a report of a fight in the 400 block of Clinton Avenue. While on the way, they received reports of gunfire near their destination. When they arrived, officers found the victim inside with a gunshot wound.

He was taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, where he is in stable condition, police said. They did not release his name.

No motive has been established for the shooting, but early investigation found that there were several fights during a party at the home where the victim was found, police said. Police are asking anyone with information to call 651-266-5650.
