For years Minnesota has sacrificed for Gov. Tim Pawlenty. When our roads and bridges decayed, it was so GOP leaders would know Pawlenty was a good conservative foot-soldier. When state funds to cities were cut, it was so Pawlenty could demonstrate his conservative bona fides to Beltway Republicans. When education funds were slashed, it was so that Pawlenty could prove he was ready to be a vice presidential candidate. Now Pawlenty is not John McCain's vice presidential pick! So why has Minnesota sacrificed so much on behalf of Tim Pawlenty's failed ambitions? ROBERT ALBERTI, MINNEAPOLIS
