Rasmusson, Doris Mae (nee Dinnetz) was a long-time resident of New Brighton, MN and before that of Northeast Minneapolis. Doris was born in Minneapolis on January 28th, 1926 to Fred and Elizabeth Dinnetz. Growing up she lived on a farm in Britton, SD and graduated from Britton High in 1944.

Doris moved to Minneapolis shortly after high school and pursued schooling for shorthand and typing. It was by happenstance that Doris would meet the love of her life, Wilton, while answering the door of her apartment she shared with one of Wilton's sisters. It was Wilton's first day back in Minnesota post-WWII & the rest as they say is history. Doris and Wilton wed on June 8th, 1946 and shared 74 years together in marriage.

Doris and Wilton had one son, Greg, and one granddaughter, Amber, both of whom she adored dearly. Doris loved many things in life; many of her favorite things were her granddaughter, her cats, her flowers and garden, horses, traveling (especially cruises), shopping, a fine champagne, writing heartfelt notes to friends and family, and being a frequent donator to various charitable causes.Doris was a long-time employee of Dayton Hudson /Target Corp and before that of Peavey Corp.

Doris passed away peacefully early on Sunday, June 7th from COVID-19 after a long battle with dementia. Her passing leaves behind a great hole in many of our hearts and she will be missed terribly.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Elizabeth Dinnetz; beloved Aunts Helen Dinnetz and Esther Dinnetz; brother Floyd Dinnetz.

Doris is survived by her husband Wilton; sister Arlene; son Greg (Iva) Rasmusson; and granddaughter Amber (Dan) Rasmusson Poynter. We would like to thank the staff at the Landmark of Fridley for taking great care of our Doris. A private memorial and interment at Fort Snelling will be held with a public memorial at a future date due to COVID-19. Washburn-McReavy Northeast Chapel; 612-781-6828.
