Boos, Robert Carl was born in Chippewa Falls, WI on April 19, 1935 He was preceded in death by parents Alta and Herbert, brothers James and Richard, sister Darlene, daughter Toni, a nephew, several nieces, and a granddaughter. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Edith (Penttinen), step-son Craig (Jennifer) daughter Mary Jo (Mike), siblings, Betty, Doris, Geraldine, and Jackie and from his first marriage, his daughters Cindy Chovan (Ron), Joanne (known by Renee), Roberta, Mary-Ellen, and son Robert.

Bob was an auto mechanic whose passion was auto racing. Eventually he owned his own garage to finance his racing expenses. He drove gas dragsters, hobby stockers, stock cars, and sprint cars. He had professional sponsors and won many races. He had one serious crash in a dragster where he flipped upside-down at over 137mph and nearly died.

Bob met Edie in 1963 when she worked at White Castle in Minneapolis. She refused his flirtations, but in a moment of weakness she agreed to a date with him. Bob and Edie got married on July 3, 1965 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. In addition to racing, Bob was a sportsman, enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. He took the family on many camping and fishing trips, heading "Up North" every weekend. Bob went on fly-in fishing trips into Canada and even Edie went along for salmon fishing charters on Lake Michigan.

In the early 80's, Summit Academy Vocational school wanted Bob to teach so he taught welding and mechanics part-time for at-risk youth. When downtown real estate became prime, he lost his garage lease and closed the doors on his "B&B Automotive" shop. Bob went to work for Ray Jordan and Sons commercial landscaping and remained there for many years. He was a mechanic for their heavy equipment and manufactured specialty parts for their machinery and retired when he was 70 years old.

In retirement Bob enjoyed going to estate sales and looking at treasures from bygone eras. He always struck up conversations and had stories to tell. Bob enjoyed going to the cabin for peace and quiet. He kept busy with projects such as working on old cars and repairing things. He was proud of his children and grandchildren and his companionship will be missed by those who knew him.
