Appelt, William Crandall Age 67, died in his home on August 18, 2019 of natural causes. Bill was born to Frances & Martin Crandall Appelt on September 18th of 1951. He grew up in Luverne, MN and lived there until he graduated high school in 1969. He then attended the University of Minnesota, Duluth, graduating with a double major in History and Psychology in 1974. Bill worked in the insurance industry for over 30 years before retiring in 2009. Bill enjoyed college football and basketball, the Green Bay Packers, the Minnesota Twins, and talking with his children about all of the above. Bill was also food enthusiast and enjoyed trying new restaurants and grilling. Bill was also a dedicated and loving grandparent. He was passionately devoted to and preceded in death by his Airedale companion and best friend, Max. He is survived by his brother, Martin Appelt (Paula) of Sioux City, IA, former wife Sandy Murphy of Eagan, MN, daughter Allison Estrada (Jose) of Minneapolis, MN, son Christopher Appelt (Erin) and grandchildren, Raegan and Avery Appelt of Phoenix, AZ. A celebration of Bill's life will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, December 2nd at St. Joseph Catholic Community, 8701 36th Avenue North, New Hope.
