Anderson, Julie Lee My dear Julie lost her fight with Asthma/ COPD and passed away peacefully on October 19th at the tender age of 52. Always a Northside/Northeaster at heart, Julie pulled up stakes in November 2001 and moved to Aitkin where her beloved mother Carol (who retired early with her own health problems) had relocated. Despite her own health issues she insisted on being there to help Carol raise grandchildren Dusty and Emily. Those may have been her happiest years until Carol's passing on Easter Sunday 2011, which truly broke Julie's heart as her mother was her very best friend. It was also November 2001 when we met, we clicked immediately and she called me daily upon her move to Aitkin. This was a very low point in my life and Julie was always there with unconditional support. I used to kid her "she bought me when no one was buying" and she would offer maybe she should have sold. We had our ups and downs as we were both a little hotheaded, but when emotions cooled we were there for each other. Julie loved to cook and entertain, her saying was "I like to make meals" as she took great pride in feeding family and friends, often cooking way too much on holidays so there was plenty to send home. She was and remained fiercely independent and although had very modest means she insisted on paying her own way and sacrificing throughout the month, a lesson I very much needed to learn from her. She had a real soft spot for anyone who was down and out, her empathy knew no bounds and she never left you with an empty stomach and enough leftovers to last a week! The last many years she struggled with many physical and emotional challenges, throughout the pain she fought for each and every day with fierce determination while expressing love for those around her. Above all she loved and cherished her family especially her nieces and nephews and now their children as well, her eyes would twinkle when she saw or spoke to or of them. She leaves many friends in Aitkin and "the cities" whose support she loved and appreciated. She overlooked my many flaws, as I did hers, although we never married, I did my best to Love, Honor and cherish her these past 18 years and with God's Grace she can now Rest in Peace. All my Love, Jerry Iacarella & Brutus. Preceded in death by parents Glenn and Carol; favorite Aunt Barb; and her special puppy, Baby Bear. Survived by sisters Tammy (Clayton) Simonson, Sherry, brother Ricky (Tina) Anderson, special niece Jenny, many other relatives.
