Pool, Dorothy Mae Age 91 of Bloomington passed away peacefully on March 20th. Born Dorothy Mae Schiager in Mitchell, SD, Dorothy was a proud graduate of Augustana College. She started a "homebound" teaching program in Sioux Falls for children affected by polio and carried that into the Minneapolis area before settling into her true calling as a homemaker. A 50 year plus Edina resident, Dorothy was involved in numerous social organizations and was a longtime supporter of the Minnesota Orchestra. She was a voracious reader and a master of the English language. She had a knack for providing support and encouragement to those in her life that needed it. Dorothy was a good friend to many over her lifetime and enjoyed many wonderful times with her beloved "tennis group". Dorothy is survived by her children, Paul (Dawn) Hedelson, Bill (Michelle) Pool , Mary (Ron) Berdan , and Laura Hedelson, 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Also survived by her brother Roger (Donna) Schiager. Preceded in death by her parents, Porter and Hazel Schiager, husbands Ray Hedelson and Bob Pool. Service Saturday, April 27th 11:00am at Friendship Village in Bloomington, MN. Private burial. Memorials in Dorothy's name to Augustana University. 2001 So. Summit Ave., Sioux Falls, SD 57197.
