Davis, Gary A. age 77 of White Bear Lake, passed away on March 22, 2019 as a result of complications following heart surgery. He was born in St. Paul, MN on August 24, 1941 to John and Kathryn (Utecht) Davis. Gary retired in 2012 after a challenging and satisfying legal career of 41 years serving the Ramsey County's Attorney's Office Civil Division. He was the legal advisor for land acquisition and construction of St. Paul Ramsey Hospital (now Regions Hospital) and served as general counsel for both the Ramsey County Library Board and the county's Community Human Services Department. His career also included leadership of several state and national legal associations. Gary graduated from Cretin High School ('59), Univ. of St. Thomas ('63) and William Mitchell College of Law ('69). He had a strong faith in the Lord and continued working with private organizations related to his Church including the St. Paul Serra Club - where he was past president of the USA Council of Serra International. Gary also served on both the St. Pius X Parish Council as well as the School Board for Hill-Murray High School. Wide-ranging conversations with a host of friends and acquaintances were always a delight to him. Gary had an engaging personality and a sharp wit. He enjoyed cartooning, painting, taking in a leisurely pontoon boat ride, and all things cars and airplanes. He and Marilyn delighted in traveling to visit their children and grandchildren. Gary is the beloved husband of Marilyn (Schwartz) Davis, his wife of 51 years; loving father of Gary (Julie) Davis (Milwaukee, WI), Shannon (Daniel) Pezolt (Dunwoody, GA), Thomas (Marie) Davis (Lake Wylie, SC) and Julie (Michael) Piehl (Lake Wylie, SC); dear grandfather of Nicholas, Zachary and Madison Davis, Andrew and Matthew Pezolt, Vincent Davis, Donalson Fanord Davis, Alexander and Olivia Piehl. Loving brother to John (Jack) Davis and cherished uncle to John, Katherine, Michael and Denton. Preceded in death by his parents and infant sister. Friends and Family may visit on Friday, March 29 from 4-8 p.m. Bradshaw Funeral Home, 4600 Greenhaven Dr., White Bear Lake.
