Kenneth Francis Pavett – Born as a solstice baby on December 21, 1941, and born into eternal life on February 13, 2019 (on the date of his favorite number, 13). Survived by his bride of 54 years, Carol Ann, supportive son’s Ken (Harmony) and Greg Pavett (Heidi) and his favorite (and only) daughter, Kristianne Schultz (Andy – who Dad referred to as “now son”). His life would not be complete without the birth of his grandchildren, Annalyse Pavett, Hannah Pavett, Samantha Pavett, Jack Pavett, Giles Seelye, Beatriz Schultz and Chloe Pavett, all treasures that touched his heart and brought so much pride and joy to his life.

The first community Ken belonged to was in Chicago, Illinois where he was raised by his mother Adeline (Koziol) and Harold J. Pavett in the Milwaukee/Foster neighborhood. His fond memories consisted of sharing childhood experiences with his devoted brother Hal “Babe” Pavett and sister, Sharon Grot (Jim). His many childhood lessons were provided by aunts, uncles and cousins, and he was grateful to have the many nieces, nephews and their children to share in his life-long journey.

Ken attended Cardinal Stritch High School and DePaul University, and was rapidly called to share his many gifts of life works in the graphic arts and printing industry, which all began in 1959, and never seemed to cease. He launched his music career as a young man in Chicago, playing the keyboard in a band called, “The Rhythm Heirs,” broadcasting his sound for various weddings and events. Ken carried his artistic talents into his love for painting art in nature. His near end-of-life treasure was being asked to display his paintings at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum where he shared a collection of work with his Minnesota Community. During the 13 years Ken lived in Minnesota (do you see a theme of 13?), Ken shared his spiritual faith journey with his St. Victoria Catholic Church community as a lector and eucharistic minister. He enjoyed his men’s focus group and the many discussions around God, faith and his spiritual beliefs, which brought much peace, comfort and ease to Ken and his loved ones during his last days of life.

His end of life sequence began in May 2017, when he was diagnosed with end-stage renal disease due to progressive multiple-myeloma. Through his disease he was able to share the gift of time, love, patience and perseverance right down to the end when he was rhythmically breathing his last breath, like life’s music from the very beginning to the very end. He was a profound teacher of faith, forgiveness, acceptance, unconditional love and endurance that will be passed along for many generations to come.

A celebration of Ken’s life will be held on Saturday February 23, 2019 at 11:00AM at St. Victoria’s Catholic Church, 8228 Victoria Dr., Victoria, MN 55386. Visitation will occur from 10AM-11AM. All will gather for Catholic Mass at eleven with a luncheon to follow at the church.
