McGee, Elizabeth "Betty" A. Age 74, of Mpls passed peacefully on Jan. 11, 2019 in Austin, TX. Betty was born in Bloomington, MN on March 19, 1944. A graduate of Bloomington High School (1962) & Winona State University (1966) with a BS in Elementary Education, she worked for over 30 years as a librarian in ISD #279, primarily at Osseo Elementary. She treasured her job and had an uncanny knack of remembering each student ever encountered. Betty loved summers at the cabin enjoying the beauty of the Lake Vermilion. She loved her family dearly, especially her kids & grandkids. We are so grateful for recent winters spent in TX making treasured memories with us all. She will be remembered for her smile & laugh, her irreverent humor & gullibility, and her genuinely loving spirit. Preceded in death by parents Morgan & Elna Walters and step-mother Elna DeHarpporte. Survived by her loving husband of 50 years Gary McGee, son Tim McGee, grandsons Evan & Henry (mother Tiffany), daughter Julie (Sam) Bell, grandchildren Blake & Brynn, sister Cathy (Ed) Ross, nephews, nieces, & great-nephews/nieces. Celebration of Life service will be held 11AM at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Maple Grove on Mon., Jan. 28 with visitation 10AM.
