Loren 'Jake' Jacobson
Jacobson, Loren "Jake" age 85, of Dundas, Minnesota, passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2018, at Mayo Clinic Hospital/ Methodist Campus, Rochester, Minnesota, in the company of loved ones. He was born in Ostrander, MN on June 24, 1933, to Alvin and Rhoda Jacobson. He was married to Byrene Lowman and had three daughters together. They later divorced. Loren was also married to two other amazing women. Jake and Judy Peterson worked together at Braniff and Sun Country Airlines and spent seven years together. Loren and Mavis were married on February 21, 1996. Together, they built a new home on his farm in rural Dundas, MN. After receiving his pilot's license from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, he spent over 40 years in commercial aviation. Jake took great pride in being one of the founders of Sun Country Airlines and continued to fly for Sun Country until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mavis, his parents, brothers, Roger and Larry, great-grandson, Caelen. Loren is survived by his three daughters, Lorene (Wayne) of Charlotte, NC, Katherine (Dan) of Wadsworth, OH and Sharla (Mark) of Prior Lake, MN, his sister, Sharlene (Doug) Beisell of Wabasha, MN, two stepchildren Becky and Brent (Tami), both of Eagan and 7 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, and 2 great-grand-children. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018, beginning at 11 am at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Northfield with the Reverend David Weeks officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, October 5, 2018, from 4 PM to 7 PM at St. Peter's Lutheran Church and one hour prior to the service in the church. Interment will be held at a later date at Rosemount Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to: Mayo Clinic Hospice, 200 First St. SW, Rochester, MN 55905.
