Goehl M.D., Reinhold O. "Riney" Age 83, of Minnetonka, MN, died of cancer September 16, 2018. Born July 7, 1935 and raised in Grand Forks, ND. Preceded in death by parents, Dr. Reinhold O. Goehl and Mary Jane "Polly" (Benham). Graduate of UND and University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Internship at Denver General, OBGYN residency at GBMC/Johns Hopkins in Baltimore. Captain, U.S. Army in Stuttgart, Germany. Practiced at Mpls OB-GYN Assoc. Ltd. and Group Health. So proud of the thousands of babies he delivered. Memberships: Fellow of American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, AMA, Blue Key, Sigma Xi, Sigma Chi, and many others. In retirement, spent 5 months a year at favorite summer home on Lake Bemidji, 2 weeks every March on Sanibel Island, FL. He was married to his lifetime best friend Joanie for 62 years. Riney was a terrific husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He loved a good gag, photographing his family and nature, travelling (all 50 states and 32 countries), puttering around the house, craft beer, and buying endless plaid shirts and Angel Soft tissue! Survived by his wife, Joan (Roller); daughters, Jayne (Gary) Williams, Barb (Gary Timm) Danielson, Sue Hemme; brother, Robert Goehl; grandchildren, Kelly Williams, Erik (Kyla Flaten) Williams, Ryan (Nikki) Williams, Joe (Tatiana) Danielson, Jack Danielson, Taylor Hemme, Connor Hemme, and many other relatives and friends. The celebration of his life will be at Good Samaritan United Methodist Church of Edina at 11:00am on Tuesday, September 25. Visiting time at 10:30am. Memorials preferred to donor's choice or to Good Samaritan Church. Grateful thanks to the incredible Hospice teams at Bemidji and Methodist.
