Brandeen, Edward Carl Age 88 of Crystal. Born in Grand Rapids, MI passed away on July 5, 2018. Preceded in death by wife, Delores; daughter, Karen (Charlie); and parents, Arthur and Sima. Survived by twin brother, Dr. Phillip Brandeen (Jeanne); son, Edward A. (Jackie); daughters, Susan (Chris), Kristen (Tavy), Sharon (Greg); and 13 grandchildren. Edward served in the US Navy, he was a member of the American Legion, a Master Mason, 32° Scottish Rite and a Zuhrah Shriner. He earned his degree in Parks and Recreation and later got his Master's Degree in Education. He was the director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Owatonna for four years before moving to the City of Crystal to become their director of Parks and Recreation for 34 years. In retirement, Ed loved going to his cabin in the summer and wintering in Gold Canyon, AZ. He was a fervent Notre Dame fan and could hardly wait to watch the Fighting Irish football games. He was loved by his family and will be missed forever. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Minneapolis Heart Institute. A celebration of Ed's life will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, July 21st at Holy Nativity Lutheran Church, 3900 Winnetka Ave. N., New Hope, with visitation one hour prior to the service at church.
