As Tuesday's election nears, eligible voters can cast absentee ballots in person Friday, Saturday and Monday at their county elections offices and, in some cases, municipal offices.
If a voter sends in an absentee ballot by mail, it must be received at the elections office that issued it by 3 p.m. on Election Day.
Absentee voting is available if you can't go to the polls on Tuesday because you are:
Away from your precinct.
Ill or disabled.
Serving as an election judge in another precinct.
Unable to go to the polling place because of a religious holiday or beliefs.
You can cast an absentee ballot at your county elections office during standard office hours today, as well as from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, and until 5 p.m. on Monday. Many city elections offices, including Minneapolis' (City Hall, 350 S. 5th St.), also administer absentee voting. St. Paul contracts with Ramsey County for election services.
Some county and municipal elections offices may have additional extended hours for in-person absentee voting. For example, Ramsey County's office (90 W. Plato Blvd., St. Paul) will be open 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
