Bauhaus Brew Labs is set to open Friday, July 18th from 3 PM to 11PM (their typical Wed-Friday hours) at the brewery and taproom in Northeast Minneapolis. On Saturdays they plan to be open from noon to 11 PM and they will have food trucks on site.

There is something different about the beers that they will offer and that is that their beers will be all made using lager yeast with recipes not limited to traditional lager styles. The plan is to play around with different hops, malt, and other ingredients. On their beer menu will be a Bohemian Pilsner, Schwarzbier, West Coast Lager, and a West Coast IPA.

Mike Schwandt who is one of the owners likes the idea of brewing lagers and feels that it sets them apart from the typical offering around the Twin Cities. "You can get amazing IPAs all over but we didn't want to jump into that realm," he said. They will however feature a couple special offerings in say the fall and winter months to keep things interesting. "We will still have a big beer on here and there but it won't be our focus."

The brewery is family owned and operated and despite the fact is has taken longer to open than once thought, they couldn't be more excited. "Its been a dream since November of 2012. It's been a long time coming," said Mike.

Bauhaus plans to can all four of their beers but they won't be ready until late August or early September.
