One of two men shot and killed Saturday near Franklin and Chicago avenues in south Minneapolis was identified as a 20-year-old Minneapolis man by the Hennepin County medical examiner Wednesday evening.
Jorge Ulises Zavaleta-Martinez was found shot with a second victim around 10:20 p.m. Saturday. He died the next day at Hennepin County Medical Center as a result of a gunshot wound to the head. No arrests have been made.
There have been 29 homicides so far this year in Minneapolis. Over the past few months, the number of killings has continued to outpace the same period last year.
