Warm weather and unsafe ice conditions have prompted the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board to close all warming houses and outdoor ice rinks until further notice.

The department said it has suspended rink maintenance and will reassess conditions next week.

That means all adult broomball and pond hockey games are canceled through Monday, as well as outdoor youth hockey games.

Coon Rapids also announced Friday that it is shutting down its ice rinks and warming house operations for the year.
