Two men have been arrested in connection with the death of a 25-year-old man who was shot to death early Wednesday in his south Minneapolis home, police said Thursday.

The suspects, ages 27 and 21, were arrested Thursday in the 600 block of W. Broadway Avenue and were booked into the Hennepin County jail, police said. No motive was yet clear, they said.

Investigators will present the case to the Hennepin County Attorney's office for consideration of charges.

Shea Stremcha and his fiancée had moved into their home on 45th Avenue S. just north of E. Lake Street within the past year, neighbors said. Police were called to the house shortly after 3 a.m. Wednesday and found Stremcha's body.

Police followed a trail of blood drops from the home's side door through the back yard and north through the alley, according to news reports.

Stremcha may have been killed after interrupting a burglary, but police Sgt. Stephen McCarty said on Wednesday that "it is too early to rule out all other possible motives."

On Wednesday, Benjamin Pratt, a spokesman at Ameriprise, where Stremcha had worked for about a year, said, "We are deeply saddened by this tragedy. Our thoughts are with Shea's family."
