A computer class geared for seniors, “Senior Surf Day,” will be held at the Stillwater Public Library on Tuesday, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Stillwater Public Library.

The class is presented by the Metropolitan Area Agency On Aging and will teach attendees who have little or no experience about computer basics and Internet searching. Space is limited, so register ahead of time.

Pancake breakfast raises holiday funds

A pancake breakfast to observe Community Thread’s “Christmas in July” event will be held from 8-11 a.m. July 20, at the agency at 2300 W. Orleans St. in Stillwater.

The breakfast will feature a Christmas tree, music, toy donations and a visit from “Summer Santa.”

A ticket of $6 for adults, $4 for children and seniors (children under 3 are free), which can be purchased at the door, buys an all-you-can-eat breakfast of pancakes. Proceeds benefit Community Thread’s Holiday Hope Program (formerly Holiday Bureau) that helps people in need during the holiday season.

Volunteers are needed to help make and serve pancakes, greet attendees, assist with setup or takedown, and other tasks. Interested volunteers should contact Patrice at patrice@communitythreadmn.org or 651-439-7434. More information is available at www.communitythreadmn.org.

Motorcyclists rallying for playground’s cause

Motorcycle enthusiasts are invited to the inaugural River Falls Cruisin’ for a Cause motorcycle run on July 20.

All proceeds will go to the Schaffhausen Memorial Fund to develop a special playground to commemorate and honor the lives of murder victims Amara, Sophie and Cecilia Schaffhausen.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. for the run starting at 11 a.m. at St. Croix Lanes, 1153 St. Croix St. in River Falls, Wis..

The 100-mile cruise will wind through Wisconsin’s scenic countryside, with venues including Molly’s in Plum City, Sassy’s Bar in Arkansaw, Cubby’s Country Zone in Downsville and Iron Horse Saloon in Spring Valley. Finish and a poker draw will be hosted by Johnnie’s Bar in River Falls.
