A woman and her 6-year-old son were identified Sunday as the victims who died in a two-vehicle crash near on icy Hwy. 212 in Carver County. Three other people were hurt but will survive.

The crash occurred about 1:50 p.m. Saturday and involved a car heading east that spun out and into the path of a pickup truck heading the other way, according to the State Patrol.

Killed were two people in the car: passengers Angelica Salas, 29, of Lester Prairie, Minn., and 6-year-old son Jorge E. Salas, the patrol said.

Surviving with injuries in the car were the driver, Jorge Salas, 29, Angelica's husband, and their 4-year-old son, Omar Salas.

Also injured but surviving was the pickup's driver, Matthew C. Radde, 33, of Excelsior.
