MIDDLETON, Wis. — A Middleton medical facility where midwives have delivered hundreds of babies over the last decade plans to close because it can't get health insurers to cover its services.

Madison Birth Center owner Jennifer Bell says "there's just not enough people who can pay out of pocket." Bell says the center couldn't get the four HMOs in the Madison market to participate.

The State Journal (http://bit.ly/19jrxQC ) says the center's midwives have been delivering babies since 2003, but will close in November.
