The floods at a glance

• Torrential downpours and flash floods June 19-21 hit Duluth, northeastern and south-central Minnesota.

• Storms transformed creeks into raging torrents, wrecked roads and houses and Duluth's zoo.

• 15 counties and three tribal governments were declared disaster areas.

• No deaths were blamed on the flooding, but 1,700 homes were damaged, including 154 with major damage and 17 destroyed.

• Major highways and bridges were damaged, as were two-thirds of Duluth's 30 parks and the city's 14 trails.
