Burglary. Gifts were stolen from under a Christmas tree at a home in the 16500 block of Wintergreen Street NW. Entry was gained through an unsecured sliding glass door.

Suspicious activity. Two children and an adult were reported sleeping around noon in a vehicle parked at Mahtomedi Middle School, 8100 75th St. An all-day basketball tournament was being held at the school, and the complainant was told that a check of the vehicle wasn't warranted.

Theft. A 2019 Chrysler 300 was stolen from the 14800 block of Aberdeen Street NE.

Burglary. Horse medicine was stolen from a barn in the 200 block of Kuntz Drive. Authorities with the Hennepin County crime lab collected evidence left at the scene.

LAKE ELMO

DEC. 12

Suspicious activity. A resident in the 5000 block of Jerome Avenue reported that a neighbor's son was hiding in the bushes as people walked by. Authorities found an earlier complaint filed from the neighbor's residence taking issue with people letting their dogs urinate on the property.

Assault. Officers responded to a report of an assault at Brackett's Crossing, 17976 Judicial Road. A 38-year-old man reportedly had too much to drink at the office Christmas party and assaulted his boss among other people.

MAHTOMEDI

DEC. 9

Animal complaint. A homeowner in the 600 block of Edith Avenue called authorities and said they had trapped a fox on their property out of concern for their dog's safety. The homeowner was told that the Sheriff's Office would not pick up the fox.

MAPLEWOOD

Theft. Four wheels valued between $3,500 and $4,000 were stolen off a vehicle parked at Maplewood Imports, 2780 Maplewood Dr.

Theft. Fishing equipment and a dent puller were stolen from a home in the 1000 block of County Road D.

PRIOR LAKE

Drugs. A 35-year-old Prior Lake man was cited for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and a seat belt violation following a traffic stop at Franklin Trail and 160th Street.

DEC. 12

Civil dispute. A 19-year-old woman from the 6900 block of 139th Lane NW. requested help getting her pet iguana back from a former friend. An officer spoke to both parties, who decided they would work things out.

Animal complaint. An officer responded to a report of a muskrat stuck in the window well of a home in the 14100 block of Xenon Street NW. The officer placed the caller's ladder in the window well so the muskrat could climb out.

RICHFIELD

Assault. Officers responded to a report of an assault at Motel 6, 7640 Cedar Av. S. They arrested an 18-year-old Richfield man for assault and possession of a handgun with the serial numbers removed, and a 24-year-old Minneapolis man for assault.

ST. ANTHONY

DEC. 22

Weapon. A 26-year-old man was arrested for possession of a firearm, driving after suspension and having no proof of insurance following a traffic stop at Silver Lake Road and County Road E. After authorities found marijuana in his underwear, he was charged with introducing drugs into jail.

Theft. A 27-year-old Prior Lake woman was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and heroin and theft after she was caught shoplifting at Kohl's, 1529 17th Av.

Drunken driving. A 19-year-old Chaska man was cited for underage drinking and driving and possession of an open bottle of alcohol, marijuana and drug paraphernalia at Pinehill Boulevard and County Road 10 E.
