• 1987: First leg opens, from Hwy. 10 in Coon Rapids across the Mississippi River to Hwy. 252 in Brooklyn Park.

• 2000: Extension to Hwy. 169 opens in Brooklyn Park.

• 2011: 2.74-mile extension from Hwy. 169 to Hwy. 81 opens in Maple Grove. • 2014-16: Final 2.6-mile leg from Hwy. 81 to I-94 in Maple Grove is completed.
