5:30 a.m. update: First inbound Northstar train running 15 minutes late

Riders on the Northstar commuter rail line's first inbound trip left Big Lake at 5 a.m. on time, but Metro Transit says it is "anticipating 15 to 20 minutes delay" south of Big Lake.

Riders on the Northstar commuter rail line's first inbound trip left Big Lake at 5 a.m. on time, but Metro Transit says it is "anticipating 15 to 20 minutes delay" south of Big Lake.

According to the agency's NexTrip, the train should arrive in Elk River in 5 minutes at 5:33 a.m. and in Ramsey at 5:43 a.m. So it looks as if things are running even later than that. Below is the posted schedule.

The Drive is working on finding out the reason for the late train.
