About 50 Xcel Energy customers in Minneapolis were without power at 10:50 a.m. Monday when temperatures hovered at 7 degrees below zero, according to utility's website.
That's down from the nearly 4,500 Xcel customers that lost power for several hours in south Minneapolis just after 8 p.m. Sunday. The largest areas affected were south of E. 38th Street to the east and west of Hiawatha Avenue.
About 11 p.m., power was restored to most of those two areas, but outages spread to other parts of south Minneapolis, leaving 1,434 customers without power as of 11:50 p.m., according to the Xcel website.

By 5 a.m., about 800 customers still didn't have power restored.
Customers still in the dark early Monday can expect to have power restored anytime between 7 a.m. and 1:10 p.m., depending on the area, the website said.
