Man shot and killed near bar identified

Authorities on Monday identified the man who was shot and killed outside a Minneapolis bar following a fight.

Willie J. Smith III, 22, of St. Paul, was shot outside the Blue Nile Restaurant and Lounge at 2027 E. Franklin Av. about 2:15 a.m. Saturday, according to the Hennepin County medical examiner's office.

No arrests have been made.

Dead motorcyclist in St. Anthony identified

Authorities on Monday identified the man who died in a motorcycle crash last week in St. Anthony.

Daniel D. Dustin, 44, was killed shortly after 11:30 p.m. Thursday, according to the Hennepin County medical examiner's office. Police said Dustin was wearing a helmet and doesn't appear to have been speeding.

There have been at least motorcycle 57 fatalities this year, according to the state Department of Public Safety. That's two more than all of last year and the most since 2008, when there were 72.

2 arrests made in Annandale homicide

Two 19-year-olds have been arrested in connection with the killing of a 42-year-old man in a home in Annandale.

One of the suspects, a man from Annandale, is being held on suspicion of second-degree murder in the death Saturday of Kyle L. Greene, 42, according to police. The other suspect, a woman from Otsego, is being accused of aggravated robbery, police said.

The two were arrested Sunday morning about three hours apart. They remain in the Wright County jail and have yet to be charged.
