A driver went off the road in the southwest metro, crashed into a ravine and was killed, authorities said.
The wreckage was located about 3:20 p.m. Sunday in Blakely, about 9 miles southwest of Belle Plaine in Scott County, the State Patrol said. It's unclear when the crash occurred.
The driver was identified as Francis J. Pivec, 75, of nearby Henderson. He did not have on a seat belt, the patrol said.
Pivec was heading west on Hwy. 19 just east of Nature Center Lane, where he went off the road to the right and "down into a ravine no visible from the road," a patrol statement read.
