Driver dies when he rear-ends grain wagon in SE. Minnesota

The crash occurred Wednesday afternoon on Hwy. 76 in Houston County

A driver in southeastern Minnesota rear-ended a vehicle pulling two grain wagons and died in the crash, the State Patrol said.

The Caledonia man, 39, was driving on Hwy. 76 near milepost 25 in Money Creek Township in Houston County when he struck a van pulling angled hopper style wagons, said State Patrol Sgt. Troy Christianson.

The victim, whose name has not been released, was not wearing a seat belt when the crash occurred about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The van driver, Richard Daniel Torgeson, 56 of Houston, Minn., was not hurt.
