After a short adjustment period, Sebeka, the No. 3-ranked team in Class 1A, turned up the heat on upstart Mesabi East, outscoring the Giants 29-8 over the last 10 minutes of the first half. Sebeka looks like it has all of the pieces a state championship caliber team: athleticism, leadership, rebounding and a star player in senior forward Joey Cuperus.
