Woman from Baudette killed in northern Minnesota crash

The crash occurred on Hwy. 172 in Lake of the Woods County

A woman from Baudette, Minn., died in a head-on collision Monday evening when the driver of a pickup truck strayed across the centerline on a northern Minnesota highway and hit her SUV.

Cynthia Anne McDougall, 42, was headed south on Hwy. 172 near milepost three in Lake of the Woods County when the driver of a Chevy Silverado struck her Toyota Highlander just before 6 p.m. the State Patrol said.

McDougall was pronounced dead at the scene.

Kyle Alexander Neumiller, 23, of Isle, Minn., was taken to Lakewood Health Center in Baudette for treatment. His injuries were unknown, the patrol's report said.

It was unknown if either driver was wearing a seat belt or if alcohol was a factor in the crash, according to the report.

Road conditions were dry at the time of the wreck.
