The map above shows both the area that will get hit hardest by snow, and also
when the snow will arrive. It will look like a "wall of white" as snow spreads
from the Midwest into the mid-Atlantic. Strong winds will add to the dangers of
the storm by blowing and drifting snow.
Heavy snow will arrive in central Pennsylvania and the Washington, D.C. area by lunchtime today.
By later this evening, Philadelphia and Atlantic City will be getting snow too.
Roadways will be a mess by tonight and Saturday morning in these areas.

A light rain-snow mix is possible early today as temperatures push into the 40s by afternoon. A quiet Monday gives way to an icy mix changing to rain Tuesday (with more T-storms). Another outbreak of tornadoes is expected over Iowa and Illinois, with an ice storm for Duluth. I see mostly rain for the Twin Cities, ending as windswept snow on Wednesday.
