The No. 5 Gophers volleyball team was swept 25-22, 25-18, 25-22 at No. 8 Florida on Sunday afternoon in a match where they had no offensive flow.

The Gophers hit a season-low .149 in their second of four consecutive matches against top-10 opponents.
Mckenna Wucherer led Minnesota with nine kills on 28 attempts but also contributed three service errors. Taylor Landfair finished with eight kills, six attack errors and a .059 hitting percentage. As a team, the Gophers (2-2) hit .147 while the Gators (4-0) hit .248.
Melani Shaffmaster had 18 assists, the lowest total in the senior setter's Gophers career.
The Gators came into their home opener riding a wave of momentum after sweeping No. 2 Stanford in Palo Alto, Calif., earlier this week and their defensive energy was undeniable as they finished with 61 digs. Kennedy Martin contributed seven of those digs to go along with a game-high 15 kills.
The Gophers face No. 6 Oregon and Stanford in the Big Ten/Pac 12 Challenge next weekend in Palo Alto.

* The Gophers, behind three goals from Sophia Boman, defeated St. Thomas 5-0 in soccer at Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium. The Gophers (4-1-1) led 1-0 on an own goal by St. Thomas in the first half, then pulled away when the senior midfielder from Edina scored three times in a span of less than five minutes in the second half. The Tommies (2-2-1) were held without a shot attempt.
* Yi Cao shot a 5-under-par 65 to win the CRMC Championship at Cragun's Dutch Legacy Championship Course in Brainerd by eight strokes. It was the largest margin of victory on PGA Tour Canada this season. Wild winger Matt Boldy shot 79-80 and missed the cut.
Minnesota shot nearly 60% during a 20-8 start to erase a fresh loss to Nebraska, but guard/forward Taylor Woodson suffered a knee injury early in the game.
